Irene Dairy Farm in Centurion 

A working dairy farm in the city is not something one would expect to find nowadays.  In the heart of Gauteng, in the beautiful village of Irene, the Van der Byl family have welcomed locals and visitors from far, on to their farm for many years – allowing young and old to enjoy the dairy farm.

Irene Dairy Farm has never lost its old-world charm although it has expanded over the years. Two restaurants on-site (The Barn Restaurant and The Deck), a great kiddies playground and areas to stroll around whilst enjoying the farm animals in beautiful surrounds make it a memorable family day out. The Dairy Shop situated at the entrance to the farm is a must, where you can find home baked goodness and fresh farm milk. Keep the Farm in mind next time when you want to have kiddies parties or any other special occasions.

Across the road, you will find African Pride Irene Country Lodge, where one can enjoy a fine dining experience at Meadow Green Restaurant which overlooks a large tranquil dam rich in bird life.

Please note that Irene Dairy Farm is a cashless environment. All major credit and debit cards are accepted. Only food and beverages purchased The Dairy Shop or Restaurants may be consumed on the farm.

Kids Birthday Party Venue 

Looking for your next birthday party venue?  Irene Dairy Farm is the place to be and the kids can enjoy spending time with their friends whilst the adults can enjoy sitting under the oak trees enjoying a  selection of delicious snacks.

The kids will be entertained for hours with loads of space to run, a fun jungle gym to climb and some old tractors as well as other farm equipment to explore.  Take a  walk around the farm to the calves in their paddocks (where you can feed them a little bit of hay) or the swans on the lakes are exciting for everyone.  One of our roosters may even greet you along the way. If your party takes place in the afternoon, you can end off the day at the farm with a viewing of the cows being milked (14h30 daily).

Parents are welcome to bring along their own décor but unfortunately, you will have to set it up yourself as Irene Dairy Farm doesn’t have extra staff on hand to assist. Your party tables will be set up 30 minutes before your party starts, all ready for you to add the final touches.

Kids parties can be booked Mondays to Saturdays from 09h30 to 12h00 or 13h30 to 16h00 with a minimum of 10 children and 10 adults per booking. 

Available kids activities on the Farm 

Our lush lawns are always inviting for the jump, roll, handstand and cartwheel. Not to mention the attempted tree climbing, a game of catches, hide and seek. Parents can relax at either of our restaurants whilst the kids safely entertain themselves.

Play time here can be educational too. You can view the cows being milked, pat a calf in the barn and stroll along the pathways next to open farm fields. Kids have loads of fun on the farm and their minds are kept busy with all that is to offer at Irene Dairy Farm.

The Barn Restaurant

The Barn Restaurant offers intimate inside seating as well as outside seating under the old oak trees. The ultimate family hangout with jungle gyms,  parents get to relax whilst the kids are entertained.

Opening Hours

Irene Dairy Farm is open 7 days a week from 08h00 to 17h00. The Barn Restaurant is also open on Public Holidays from 08h00 to 17h00. We recommend you make a reservation on weekends.
