French Toast
Ingredients
For the French Toast:
- 2 Large NULDAID Eggs
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) Full Cream Milk
- 15 ml (1 T) Honey
- 2,5 ml (1/2 t) Vanilla Essence
- Pinch of Salt
- 1,25 ml (1/4 - quarter teaspoon) Cinnamon
- 2 Kitke Rolls cut into 4 or 5 thick slices
- Butter for frying
- 250 ml (1 Cup) Fresh Strawberries for serving
For the Sauce:
- 45 ml (3 T) Butter
- 60 ml (1/4 Cup) Brown Sugar
- 60 ml (1/4 Cup) Cream
- Pinch of salt
Method for making French Toast
Make salted caramel sauce: place brown sugar, butter and cream into saucepan
Stir until butter has melted and sugar has dissolved
Bring to the boil, reduce heat, simmer for 3-4 minutes
Remove from heat and whisk in the salt. Set aside while preparing toast
Mix the eggs, milk, honey, vanilla essence, salt and cinnamon. Pour into shallow dish for dipping.
Dip the bread on both sides into the egg mixture
Melt some butter in frying pan
Add the dipped bread and cook on both sides for 3 minutes each, or until golden brown
Stack the French Toast onto a plate, top with the fresh strawberries and drizzle with caramel sauce.
