Family fun with Pictionary Air

What is #PictionaryAirSA

With the global pandemic and people encouraged to have fun at home I have set out to find our favourite family fun board games! and this is the perfect one for us combining laughter, jumping, screaming and a little talent!... Even though Pictionary air is for 8 plus it has brought hours of joy to my kids who are 3 and 5. It's a hysterical way to play the classic family drawing game. You draw in the air and see it on screen in this exciting take on the quick-draw classic.

You will need to purchase the Pictionary Air Box, and download the Pictionary Air app to your smart phone or tablet to get started. You must point the in-app camera at the illustrator and you and your family will appear, along with their sketch, on the screen of your smart device. Cast to your TV for even bigger laughs! You can do this by using Apple TV, Chromecast or a compatible streaming device at home.

  • Take turns drawing clues in the air while your teammates guess the images that appear on the screen. The team with the most points wins!
  • The easy-to-use app lets you record your performance and play it back for more laughs in between rounds, or save and share it with your friends.
  • Adjust the round timer and number of rounds to give beginners or younger kids more time to draw. Selfie Mode allows you to draw without any time limits or rounds.

Is Pictionary Air recommend for toddlers, teens and adults?

As I've mentioned before Mattel and Pictionary air have recommended the game is for 8 years and older. I have previously in a much older review agreed with this as older kids can read, draw and pretty much be able to hold their own in a team of two. If you want to play exactly by the rules then yes, stick to the recommended ages.

However, this time around we decided to just have some good old fashioned fun. My kids both absolutely love the oversized lightup pen. It is a lot harder than it looks to draw in the air so we had big laughs while everyone threw around the guesses. Yes, we didn't entirely stick to the rules this time but the amount of joy it brought was worth it.

Pictionary Air is also available at selected retailers at a recommended retail price* of R499.99. Included is a Pictionary Air™ pen, 112 double-sided clue cards and card box and one AA Alkaline battery.

Can you guess what we are drawing?

My 5 year old and I decided to put together a little video clip of him and I "drawing". Like we said it is way harder than it looks so let's see if you can guess what we drew?
