Parent's guide to "Play" magazine- Spring 2015

Welcome to the Spring 2015 edition of Things to Do With Kids. Our theme for this edition is travel and transport. Our family had a lovely time exploring South Africa’s public and private transport systems, more pictures and articles can be found on our blog. There’s no better time to get out and about than SPRING when the Western Cape is in full bloom and we all recover from winter cabin fever.

Some of the transport systems you will find inside includes the MyCiti bus to the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway, hot air balloon trips in Paarl, a train trip to the Cape Winelands and mountain bike expeditions in the West Coast. The waterfront offers canal cruises and deep sea boat trips while the Mellow Yellow water taxi transports passengers between the magnificent Kalk Bay and Simon’s Town. Be sure you’re not in a hurry as the chance is there that your trip may be delayed due to whales crossing!

Across the whole of Southern Africa, only one place can adequately portray the evolution of the automobile, The Franschhoek Motor Museum. The museum’s collection exceeds 220 vehicles and more than 80 exhibits will be on view at any one time in four halls with a total floor area of 2700 m². Be sure to pay them a visit.

Our creative ideas section entails a homemade kids picnic party with a similar theme and our DIY Daddy shares how to build a kite together with your kids.

I hope you have a lovely time exploring this with us. Don't forget to hop over to our WIN page for some awesome family fun giveaways.

May you take pleasure in playing this Spring holiday, I’m sure the kids will love it too!
