Wacky Wine Weekend 2018, Robertson
The famed Wacky Wine Weekend takes place from 31 May to 3 June 2018. This well–established event has become a wine institution in the social calendars of people across the country, attracting wine connoisseurs, novices and families & friends alike traveling far and wide to “taste the lifestyle”. Warm up this winter with award-winning wines through tutored tastings by winemakers, cellar tours, wine pairings, and tastings. The event takes place at multiple wineries and tourism establishments, each showcasing a feast of unique activities planned. Expect a line-up to suit the fun-seeker, novice or wine connoisseur. Most are included in your weekend pass; others work on a pay as you go system.
Entertainment and kids activities
Expect to be entertained with live music, outdoor sports, arts & craft stalls, a variety of country cuisines and family fun with kid’s entertainment. You can expect wine tastings for adults and juice and cookie pairings for children on some of these Child-friendly wine-farms. 2018 marks Wacky Wine Weekend’s 15th anniversary and the offering this year includes produce from over thirty-five established wineries and tourism establishments in the Ashton, Bonnievale, McGregor and Robertson region. The participating wineries will be opening their cellar doors to showcase the finest vintages in the Robertson Wine Valley. Over the course of Wacky Wine Weekend, award-winning wines can be savoured through tours, pairings and interactive tastings by exceptional winemakers. Live music, food stalls with hearty country cuisine and fun activities for children complete the well-rounded entertainment experience.

Join master wine tasting classes presented by Cape Wine Academy for the adventurous, novice or advanced wine connoisseur. Adventure Lovers – Join the Funduro with a motorbike race for the whole family or bring your running shoes along and start the weekend off with a variety of fun outdoor activities. Breathe in the fresh country air with local hikes in the valley or bring your mountain bike along for a scenic MTB challenge through the vineyards with magnificent mountain views.
Family Folk – This family-friendly festival provides entertainment for young and old. Designated Driver - Robertson Wine Valley supports the use of wine in a responsible manner and has partnered with transport companies to give you options for the weekend to taste responsibly. Book transport in advance or book a taxi on the weekend. You can make use of the day in and out shuttles, book your own personal driver to take you around over the weekend using your car or book a local taxi service.
