Rhodes Memorial Cape Town

At the foot of Devil's Peak sits the Rhodes memorial.  It is not your average South African monument, instead it reminds me of an ancient Greek relic.

From the monument, you have an awe-inspiring view of the Mother City, and just the view alone makes the trip worth it.  The monument itself is a must see, the first time I visited the site, I found it hard to believe that something like it exists on African soil. This is the perfect place for an early morning coffee, which the restaurant here can provide if you do not feel like packing your own.  They also have some interesting drinks for the grownups, if a sundowner is more of your scene.

There is more than enough space here for the little ones to run around and explore, and since the monument is all metal and stone, you do not have to worry that they will break history.

If you have not visited the Rhodes Memorial yet, make this the month that you do.
