As part of the National Science Week of South Africa, Split Second Science will be hosting a week-long activity-filled week at the West Coast Fossil Park. What's in store for the scientists (big, small, young, old) that attend? Think science shows, up-sci-cling workshops, make your own fossil, owl pellet dissection and a mock dig and tour at the brand new West Coast Fossil Park facility.

National Science Week (NSW), an initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is a countrywide celebration of Science. National Science Week is run in all nine provinces simultaneously at multiple sites per province. SAASTA has been appointed by the DST as the implementing agency and plays the role of the National Project Manager for the National Science Week, hosted by Split Second Science at the West Coast Fossil Park.

Selected schools will take part in activities, whilst other school groups will take part in a museum walk and visit the 5-million-year –old palaeontological site where the bones of various extinct animals can be seen

Members of the Public are welcome to visit the West Coast Fossil Park to take a tour and see the activities which will be taking place.
