They provide affordable and good quality food in a comfortable atmosphere that also offers scenic views. Eikendal also provide wine tasting, cheesecake and wine pairing, tractor rides, vineyard walks, and some fun activities for the kids. The facilities are both family and dog friendly.

Ride in café
This is a beautiful place, a bit out of the way, on the Jonkershoek Road in Stellenbosch. The café offers breakfasts and lunches with large garden space and an area where the kiddies can play. They also offer a small bike track for kids to enjoy. The café is close to the Jonkershoek National Park where there are various trails for bikers to explore, guided tours are also available.
No bike? No problem! At the Ride in Café, they offer bike rentals for you to rent on a daily basis. The whole family can enjoy, as they offer different types of child seats and kids trailers. So if you enjoy the outdoors, good food and cycling this is the place to visit.

The Blaauwklippen Vineyards is a family favourite for many, with its variety of options for families. The grounds are large, with areas for picnics and seating options for families. You have access to restaurants as well as a bike park. They also often hold fun events and markets that are suitable for the whole family. The De Blaauwe Kitchen is an Italian inspired restaurant that offers delicious wood-fired pizzas. The menu also offers a variety of other dishes, including a kids menu.

Postcard café
The Postcard café is nestled in the Jonkershoek Valley in Stellenbosch at Starke Conde Wines. This is a family run winery that offers handcrafted wines that you can enjoy together with their good food and beautiful view. They serve breakfast, lunch and yummy sweet treats for dessert. They have fantastic views surrounded by the mountains and the café overlooks a beautiful lake. On a nice sunny day there are tables set outside where the kids can play and run around in the large lawn and after your meal, you can take a stroll around the lake. A beautiful child-friendly venue to visit.

Joostenberg Bistro, Stellenbosch
Joostenberg Bistro is a family-friendly bistro that offers seasonal farm produce where meals are served in summer on a shaded stoep that overlooks the lawn and play area for the kids. The menu is priced fairly and I would definitely like to try their warm flourless chocolate and almond cake with homemade pistachio ice cream. That just sounds yummy!
