My Perfect Mother’s Day
This is my first Mother’s Day and I am so excited about it, I want to burst. Like a bouncing ball in a child’s hand, my heart is jumping all over in anticipation for what my husband has planned for this special day. The only problem is that he is not the most creative when it comes to these things, so I have made a list of things I would love to do in celebration of being a mom to my blessing child:
Spa day with the girls
Since becoming a mom, I somehow never have time for an eyebrow wax or to have may nails done and although I am proudly owning my bushy and wild brows and short boy-like nails most of the time, I am now in serious need for some pampering.
Spartytime offers a mobile spa party and what better way to spend mother’s day than with all the mom’s and daughters in my family, being pampered, catching up on everyone’s lives.
Mami Paradiso is a day spa which has a kid friendly restaurant and child minders who can take care of the kids while mom and dad are getting spoiled.
Some me-time
I cannot remember the last time I could just sit and read a magazine or a book, in silence, and there are days where all I want to do is shut my bedroom door, curl up in bed with a cup of tea and read, or watch a good romance movie. This of course means, that my husband needs to take charge of Bean and embark on a day of father and son bonding. Here are some ideas for your husbands:
Putt-Putt is a fun outing for any child and luckily, there are courses for this activity nationwide.
Biking
Find a park or biking trail near you and let your husband and kids enjoy this outdoor activity. You could even join them for a picnic after.

A day of no-chores
Can you imagine how amazing it would be to simply sit down without thinking about what need’s to be done next?

Make-Over and Family Photoshoot
In addition to the spa day mentioned above or as an alternative, why not have a make-over and a family photoshoot? I feel like I am always a hot mess these days and would love to look and feel beautiful again. And to make sure these good looks are not wasted, get the family all dressed up and do a family photo shoot!
We did a shoot with Alke Merique Photography the other day and simply loved the result. She will be our photographer at our son’s first birthday party as well.

Day Outing with the Family
I have to confess that although I would absolutely love some me-time, there really is nothing better than spending a special day, celebrating with my little family (perhaps after the spa treatment?). Herewith therefore a list of Mother’s Day events happening around our country:

Take a drive to Elgin for their Applewood Harvest Festival and be sure to indulge in fresh artisanal food while the kids take part in traditional games, tractor rides and much more.
