Children hop on and off for free with our 3-for-1 Kids’ Special

It’s almost time for City Sightseeing’s annual 3-for-1 Kids’ Special again, which means you can take two kids (under 18) along for free when you buy one adult one-day Joburg Red City Tour ticket. The special runs from 1 May to 9 October 2016 and will be valid on weekends as well as public and school holidays.

Children can take in the sights and sounds of the city with their very own channel to listen to and a free activity book. They’ll also love these stops along the way:

Carlton Centre (stop 2)

Be amazed at the views of Joburg from the top of the highest building in Africa. Meet your City Sightseeing guide at stop 2, from where you’ll be taken to the 50th floor in a high-speed lift. From a height of more than 220m, the city looks like a children’s street-map rug and the vehicles like toy cars. On a clear day you can even see airplanes landing at OR Tambo International Airport.

James Hall Museum of Transport (stop 3)

Hop off at South Africa’s biggest land-transport museum and one of Joburg’s best-kept secrets. Here you’ll see everything from old penny-farthing bicycles, animal-drawn carts and ox wagons to steam locomotives, Joburg’s first tram, electric cars and fire engines.

Gold Reef City (stop 4)

Visit the Gold Reef City Theme Park, which offers exhilarating rides such as the Tower of Terror and the Anaconda. While some rides are only for adults and bigger children, there is plenty of entertainment for younger children too, making Gold Reef City the perfect family  friendly destination. You can even take a trip down a former gold mine for only R90.

The Apartheid Museum (stop 5)

The Apartheid Museum is a world-class facility that provides a walk-through history lesson, illustrating the days of apartheid with film footage and informative, interactive displays. This stop is the perfect choice when it comes to educating children (12 years and older) about South Africa’s journey to becoming a democratic country.

Sci-Bono Discovery Centre (stop 7)

Do you have an inquisitive child who likes to learn new things and have fun at the same time? Then the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown is the perfect stop. This interactive science and technology museum aims to create an interest in maths, science and engineering among young people.

A City Sightseeing ticket entitles you to discounts at several of our stops. Please check the back of your ticket for details.

Visit www.citysightseeing.co.za or contact our national call centre on 0861 733 287 to learn more about our tours, which are designed to keep the little ones busy these school holidays.
