Experiment with Science at Cape Gate

Let your kids experiment with science and learn about all things physics this October school holiday!

Capegate Shopping Centre will be hosting a science workshop from 28 September until 6 October. Kids between the ages of 6 - 12 will be able to experience the wonders of science by making their own take-home lava lamps and slime as well as partake in a group science experiment. Younger kids, between the ages of 3 – 5, will be able to join in on a sensory workshop, learning about cloud combustion, magnetic pulls, sinking and floating objects, and more.

To get the most out of the workshops, age groups have been split into junior (3-5 years old) and senior (6-12 years old) areas.

Junior Workshop

Only 14 little ones will be allowed into the workshop at a time and will be able to visit various science stations, which includes a:

Magnetic car station
Raincloud station
Sink / float station
Grow zone station

Senior Workshop

20 senior kids per session will be able to experiment with:

Making a take-home lava lamp and slime
A hands-on group experiment

When entering the workshops, each little scientist will receive a lab coat and a pair of goggles to look the part.

TIMES: junior – 10h00 to 14h20 | senior – 10h00 – 14h30

JUNIOR PRICE: R35 (3-5 years old)

SENIOR PRICE: R55 (6-12 years old)

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

Each session is facilitated by hands-on staff.
This is not a drop and shop facility. Parents are to accompany their children for the duration of the session. Parent seating will be available.
If sessions aren’t booked out, tickets will be available at the door.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the session start time to complete registration and indemnity forms. 
Baby changing facilities available in-centre.
Restaurants are available.
The area is stroller and wheelchair friendly.
Card machines are available at the event entrance (no cash sales will be allowed).
A 5% levy on all card or instant EFT transactions will be charged. Standard EFT has no additional costs.
