Are you ready for fun with the colorful Klikkerland Clan?
The inclusion of the English speaking Klikkerland character Leela Loela makes this colorful and lively Afrikaans show suitable for all children, even those whose home language is not Afrikaans. The phonetic names of the characters aim to improve Afrikaans pronunciation and the creators also focus on broadening and improving Afrikaans vocabulary for all children.
In this crazy adventure, a couple of field mice escape into the house and causes quite a stir. One of the Klikkerland Clan learns that sometimes pranks backfire and the kids need to help the Klikkerland Clan to solve a mystery. They tried to fly in a wonderful “flying chair” and one of the Klikkerland friends, Mnr Volstruis, also comes along for a visit and a dance.
The audience feels part of the action and the young and young at heart will leave the show with a smile on their lips, while the lively songs will stay will everyone for a while. This theater show was part of the 2017 KKNK and US Woordfees programs and was very well received.
Klikkerland can be seen on kykNET and the DVD series is available at music stores country wide. Klikkerland Vol 3 was also nominated for a Ghoema award for Best Children’s album or DVD.
